Do you often wonder how the possibility of getting hit by a bike can be changed by just a nanosecond of action or inaction? Just one second of deciding to go left instead of right. One second of deciding to stretch that conversation instead of walking out the door... I find it really fascinating.
There are so many times when you wouldn’t need to do or not do a thing for something startlingly beautiful or tragically touching to find you just where you are. You know how you can just be minding your business on a cool evening, scrolling through Instagram, and bump into a DM. How that DM can potentially be the start of a year-long grueling therapist’s appointment or the beginning of something so beautiful it brings you to your knees in prayer. It blows my mind.
This is one of the profoundest lessons I’ve learnt this year. That a lot of things are outside my control, and it shouldn’t be a problem. There’s so much in my control to take up the time I spend worrying about those that are not.
A good example is love. You can put yourself out there. You know, show up at cute events in dainty dresses. Post hundreds of hot pictures online. Go on dates set up by your friends. Do a million other things that “put you out there”. But love finds you when it’s ready, and not a second less or more.
Is this to say that striving to be visible is wrong? Of course not. It’s just a way of reminding us to worry less about the things that only divine timing can control. And this is why discernment is key.
I believe “may I never miss my timing” is such an underrated prayer. It’s a prayer that should be uttered with an insane sense of urgency. Because you see, you can walk right past your blessing if you’re not spiritually discerning. You can walk into doors that only hold pain if you’re not spiritually alert. Timing is everything so you must pray to recognize pivotal moments in your journey.
That extra second you spend adding a layer of lipstick to your makeup can be what saves or scars you. That extra hour you spend napping before stepping out can be what saves you from kidnappers or delivers you right into their nest.
“So, what’s the point of even trying?”, you may ask.
Well, you must realize that you have a role to play. The reminder here, is for you to know just where your role stops. Stop worrying about things that you lack the power to change. You must decide today to adopt the mindset that boldly declares, “all things are working for my good”. An “I am always on time” energy! You must believe that everything under the sun is sincerely interested in your success. That’s how you win.
So as you go into the new week, please do not bury yourself in the hustle because you’re chasing time. Time is not a thing you can outrun. It’s an endless sequence that was here before you came and will be here when you leave. As long as you do your bit, everything good will find you when the time is right. Believe this with all your being. To do the opposite is to self-destruct.
May your week be beautiful. I can’t wait to write to you again.

Nothing ever comes at the wrong time. What is meant for us will definitely find us.
Great work as usual, my friend. Your posts have become a regular part of my Monday routine.
Life is series of accidental events, doing just increases the possibility of something happening. It doesn't make sense to worry about time. Things happen, and if you are in the right place at the right time, they find you. All one needs to be is aware enough to spot time.
